- Specific Types:201 202 etc
- Features:poor in Corrosion resistance,widely used as cheap alternatives for 300 series in some countries
300 Series Stainless Steel Plate
- Specific Types:301 302 303 304 304L 310 316 316L etc.
- Features:take 304 as comparison
- 301:with good ductility and good weldability, used for forming products. The abrasion resistance and fatigue strength is better than that of 304 stainless steel.
- 302:corrosion resistance is as good as 304,due to higher carbon intensity,the hardness is better than 304
- 303:By adding a small amount of sulfur and phosphorus,to make it easier to machining than 304
- 304:general type,it usually made into corrosion resistant containers, tableware, furniture, railings, medical equipment etc.Its standard component is 18% chromium and 18% nickel,national standard mark in China is 10Cr18Ni9Ti.
- 304L: compared with 304,the features is almost the same, better in corrosion resistant,easier in heat treatment,but worse in mechanisch,it suits for welding and heat treatment product.
- 310:excellent in high temperature and oxidation resistant performance,the highest use temperature can reach to 1200 ℃
- 316:it is the second widely used types of steel after 304,it become a special construction of corrosion resistance by adding molybdenum.And it is widely used in food industry,watches and clocks industry,pharmaceutical industry,surgical equipment.It has better ability in resist chloride corrosion,thus it is used as ship building steel.
- 316L:It is low-carbon,so it is better in corrosion resistance and easier in heat treatment.It is widely made into chemical processing equipment, nuclear power generators, coolant reservoir etc.
400 Series Stainless Steel Plate
- Specific Types:408 409 430 440 etc.
- Features:
- 408:good in heat resistance, weak in corrosion resistance
- 409:widely used in automobile exhaust pipe
- 430: it is ferrite stainless steel, mainly used in car accessories.
- 440:it is high strength cutting steel,its hardness can reach to 58 HRC, and it belongs to one of the most hardened stainless steels.
